Welcome to the First Edition of Rooted & Real Weekly
Hey friends,
Welcome to the first edition of Rooted & Real Weekly.
I started Rooted & Real with Keenan because I believe people are tired of surface-level encouragement. We do not just need quick quotes, polished answers, or “just think positive” advice.
We need real conversations about real life.
Life gets heavy.
Relationships are hard.
Stress builds.
Faith can feel complicated.
Healing takes longer than we expected.
And sometimes we know what is true in our minds, but our bodies, emotions, and daily choices have not caught up yet.
That is what this newsletter is about.
Each week, I want to send you something practical, honest, and grounded. Sometimes it will be a reflection from a recent podcast episode. Sometimes it will be a mental health tool you can actually use. Sometimes it will be a faith-informed encouragement, a question to sit with, or a reminder that growth is still possible even when life feels messy.
This is not therapy, and it is not a replacement for counseling or crisis support. But my hope is that it becomes a steady place for encouragement, reflection, and practical next steps.
So here is the first thought I want to leave you with:
You do not have to be fully healed to start growing.
A lot of people wait until they feel confident, clear, calm, or completely ready before they take the next step. But growth usually starts before we feel ready. Healing often begins with one honest sentence:
“I am not okay, but I am willing to pay attention.”
That matters.
Pay attention to what your anxiety is trying to protect.
Pay attention to the relationship pattern you keep repeating.
Pay attention to the way you talk to yourself.
Pay attention to where you feel exhausted, resentful, numb, or stuck.
Pay attention to where God may be inviting you into honesty instead of performance.
You do not need to fix your whole life this week.
Start smaller.
Name what is true.
Tell the truth without attacking yourself.
Take one grounded step.
Ask for what you need.
Rest before you crash.
Choose honesty over pretending.
That is rooted and real.
Thanks for being here at the beginning of this newsletter. I am excited to keep building this space with you.
New episodes of Rooted & Real with Keenan are coming weekly, and I will use this newsletter to share reflections, resources, and practical tools connected to the conversations we are having on the podcast.

Until next time, stay rooted, stay real, and remember:
Growth is possible. Healing is real. And you do not have to walk through this alone.
